Q. Is Jeshua an African-Jew? The study of Jacob (Israel)’s children (Judah) & grand children (Pharez), may help our study?
This a personal study of history which I found fascinating as Israel with its descendants spent 430 years in Africa.
Good day Historian and bible scholars, I did some research about the genealogy from Abraham to Jesus: 14 x 3 generations from Abraham to Jesus (Matthew 1:1-), its about 1680 years if 1 generation = 40 years.
Which Isarelian migrated to Africa?
Gen 46:8 And these [are] the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
Gen 46:12 And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
Jesus’s genealogy
Matt 1:3: Judah the Father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the Father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram.
This coming generation were born in Egypt. For 430 years, and another 40 years in the desert, Moses [(married an Ethiopian: Number 12:1) , Caleb, Joshua, with Ephraim and Manasseh: Joseph children (African Jews)].
Then I had consulted history and found out that Joseph, Mary and Jesus fled to find refuge to their ancestoral land of Egypt (Mtt 2:13).
This small study helps me to come with an assumption that Jesus was an African-Jew based on his ancestoral birth in Egypt. I thought of sharing this in helping our bible study
Have a good day
Yours, Evariste Umba
